"Chidren and You"

The following was written in response to a question posed in a Early 
Childhood Development class at College of the Siskiyous, Weed, CA. 

Change the First Five Years and You Change Everything

Share your thoughts with your classmates (250 words) why you believe the first five years have the potential to change a child's life and what you believe needs to change (in our world today) in order for a child's life to change.

These programs are great for short-term change.  However, they do not last long.  Inspiration does not often last long.  Funding doesn’t last long.  

What does last, you might ask?

Discovering who you are.  Discovering who you truly are.  Then you can teach a child anything in this world, if you have the time and patience to do so, because everything that you teach will come from the Space of who you Truly are.

The programs might spark a child to have a more productive life.  However, all the highs and lows of this world will still be there for them.  It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor in this world, well adjusted or a mess, you do not escape the highs and lows.  Sometimes you will have periods of great success and other times great failure (the definition of failure and success is defined by the one experiencing it not the world).  Discovering who you are, what does not have a high or a low but is always and forever Still and yet fully Alive in you … is the Truth of You and everything else is simply superficial to That.  

If and when you discover this for yourself; then it is reflected in those around you.  Even though they may be in complete denial of it … you see through them/the stories they tell about who they are; because you know who is telling the story.  

Who you are doesn’t have a story, it doesn’t require learning, it simply always IS.  It is the Peace that passes understanding and you are in It right now as you this is read.  The only reason you are not aware of who you are, is because the attention is on the story and not Peace.  Peace does not move, it has no attributes and it is not in this world, the world and everything that could ever be imagined is in IT.

Behind (as a false but fairly accurate way to describe) the one reading this, is that Peace looking out of you onto this screen … it has no preferences, it simply Witnesses what you call “your life.”

Discover this for your self and then as you teach your children, you teach them from this Space.  Everything that they learn and experience in this life is secondary to that Peace (again that passes understanding … do not try to understand it … just place the attention on what is Aware of you).  

Then there is a True success story, one in which no one fails.  You cannot fail because you are in It, the only thing you can do is postpone being Aware of what you are In and that is not failure; only delay.
