Meditation can be used as a tool to begin to disengage from thoughts.
Like in the movie the Matrix, when they show the tubes being removed from the body so that the person is disengaged from the illusion/matrix.
This is what Mediation is like ... it begins to disengage one from the thoughts enough to begin to see that one is not the thoughts.
And leaves one left with the only question the only question that ever need be asked... If I am not my thoughts, then ...
"Who Am I?"
For the sincere, for the one that is willing to let the mind go through it's list of who you are (which can seem endless...but does have an end), you will begin to see the thoughts not as you, but in You.
No one can give it to you, but it is yours for the taking.
